Dale joined the Abound Wealth Team in May 2024 following a career in corporate finance at Ford Motor Company. At Ford, Dale worked throughout many different areas of the company, including 5 years living in São Paulo, Brazil while leading Ford’s South America Internal Audit operations. Dale has a BS in Finance and an MBA from Brigham Young University and has always loved personal finance and helping others to improve their own financial situation and self-reliance.
Dale was born near Boulder, Colorado and later moved to Tucson, Arizona. Following high school, Dale spent two years in Guatemala serving as a volunteer missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in Michigan for an internship with Ford, Dale met his wife, Kimberly, who was there studying architecture. They now have four children, two granddaughters, and a Shiba Inu (Ruby). Following his retirement from Ford, Kimberly insisted on weather warmer than Michigan’s and they moved to Arrington, Tennessee. In their free time, Dale and Kimberly enjoy traveling and spending time with family.
Things You Didn’t Know About Dale
- His senior year, Dale won the Arizona High School State Wrestling Championship at 132 lbs., a goal he set for himself in the 8th grade.
- He went through a phase of running various ultramarathons, but his favorite event by far is the Barkley Marathons (aka, The Race That Eats Its Young). He’s competed in the Barkley eight times now, finishing three loops twice (unfortunately over the 40-hour time limit both times).
- He enjoys planning backpacking trips to take with his sons, friends, or anyone else he can convince to go along.
- Dale sometimes appears under the screen name “LimeLeaf” assisting Kimberly with projects for her interior design business, @LemonLeafHomeInteriors.
